Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the Objective-See Foundation, any related organization, or scholarship selection process. I am simply a past attendee who enjoyed the conference.
Miles for Mac Security
I will be running my first marathon in May of 2025. As a result, I am registering for several smaller races to help me train for this marathon. These races are supporting amazing charities and causes that truly deserve attention.
However, I would like to raise money for a cause that is close to my heart, involving free and open source software (FOSS) and offensive security. The FOSS community inspired me to pursue security as a career; this part of my life is well-documented online, and I believe that “security through community” outranks “security through obscurity.”
Objective See Foundation
A cause that embodies these values is the Objective See Foundation—a 501(c)(3) hacker organization that supports:
- The creation of free, open-source macOS security tools published with the GPL 3.0 license.
- Running the Objective-We, a program dedicated to making the macOS security space more inclusive and accessible to everyone. The program has supported:
- The Diana Initiative,
- The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF),
- Ekoparty Hackademy, and
- Education surrounding Arm Assembly Internals & Reverse Engineering.
- The writing of the “The Art of Mac Malware” book series.
- Organizing the 🍏- security conference, “Objective by the Sea” (#OBTS).
Objective for the We 2.0

On 20 December 2024, the MacPaw Space, the venue for #OBTW 2.0, was damaged during a ballistic missile attack. The bottom center image captures the extent of the damage. If you wish to support MacPaw Foundation during this difficult time, please consider making a donation.
I met Patrick Wardle and Andy Rozenberg in Kyiv, Ukraine, at Objective for the We 2.0 (#OFTW). At OFTW, I made new friends that I hope to cherish for the rest of my life, and gained a new understanding of how corporate and governmental policies can affect individuals fighting for freedom in active war zones.
Objective by the Sea 7.0
Additionally, I was one of four #OBTS 7.0 conference scholarship recipients in Maui, Hawaii. The #OBTS conference is well-known in the security industry for its excellence in technical trainings and talks.

At #OBTS, I jailbroke an iPhone for the first time, enrolled in an amazing course with trainers who truly wanted me to succeed in user- and kernel-land security, and learned about fabulous opportunities. Much of this was supported, if not entirely, by FOSS created by the hackers at this conference.
The Objective-See Foundation’s conferences made a large impact on my life, and these events helped solidify my decision to find opportunities that align with my personal goals and values. I hope that in the future, I can help others do the same.
Goal 🏃🏻♀️🏅🙌🏻

My goal is to raise $2,622 (marathon ≈ 26.22 miles), which is the rough amount I need to raise to send one student to the OBTS conference.
